Bandits Add Hope and Hart to Midseason Roster
Brisbane, QLD – The Brisbane Bandits signed pitcher Carter Hope and infielder Mike Hart to their roster ahead of Round 6.
Hope has served as the Bandits pitching coach this season and will now make his return to the mound for the second half of the ABL season.
The right-handed reliever has been excellent in his first two seasons on the bump at Viticon Stadium. Across 36 appearances he holds a 2.24 ERA in 52.1 innings. Hope served as the Bandits’ primary closer last season with eight saves in his 16 appearances.
Hope was a 3rd round draft pick by the Kansas City Royals in 2013 out of The Woodlands, Texas. He spent five years playing in the Royals’ orgaisation. Most recently in the United States he played with the Lincoln Saltdogs of the independent American Association.
Hart joins the Bandits after an excellent 2024 with the Sioux Falls Canaries in the American Association as their everyday first baseman. He hit for a .323 BA with 17 doubles, 6 home runs and 41 RBI over 65 games. He has also served as the Canaries’ hitting coach their last two seasons.
This is his second appearance in the ABL after playing 11 games with the Perth Heat in 2017-18.
The left handed batter is a native of Lowell, Massachusetts and played collegiately at the University of Massachusetts.
